BingeSwipe ("we", "us") helps you discover TV series by swiping. This privacy policy explains what personal data we process when you use bingeswipe.com, why, and the rights you have. You can use BingeSwipe anonymously; creating an account is optional.

If you create an account, we store your email address and a display name. Whether or not you are signed in, we store the shows you swipe on and rate so we can build your taste profile and recommendations — anonymously in your browser, and on our servers if you are signed in. We also process technical data such as your approximate region, device type and pages visited, in aggregate.

We process account data to provide the service you ask for (contract). Swipe and rating data are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in giving you relevant recommendations, and your consent where required. Advertising and any non-essential cookies are processed only with your consent.

When you sign in, we set strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in. Anonymous swipe history is kept in your browser's local storage, not in cookies, and never leaves your device unless you sign in. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

We use a self-hosted Umami instance for privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics. It does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information or track you across other sites.

We may show ads via Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we show a consent banner, and personalized advertising cookies are only used if you consent. You can review and change your choices at any time, opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ad Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. We rely on Supabase (authentication and database, EU region), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email) and Google AdSense (advertising). Show data comes from TVMaze under a CC BY-SA licence. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to processing, and receive a copy of your data. To delete your account and associated data, contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

We keep account and swipe data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove the associated data. Anonymous local data lives only in your own browser until you clear it. Shared recommendation snapshots are automatically deleted after 90 days.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be reflected here.
